After seeing the collaboration that paired two of my favourite things: Miku and Pokemon, I had to draw every version of her! My initial attempts at drawing her on the ipad didn't pass my personal vibe check, so I got to sketching the characters on paper first before lining and colouring them on Procreate.
I was cutting it real close to Doujima 2024, but really wanted to sell them there too! I ended up falling sick because I stayed up to cut stickers.... It was worth finishing up the art, but 2 weeks of being sick was no joke either. :") Thank you to everyone who supported us there and who bought a set! These are still available on my Ko-fi! (In Gacha/Randomised form and Full set) In 2023, I conceptualised myself and Kochi as Pokemon trainers as a teaser for my Biri Biri Cover! An MV was planned but we got busy with other major commitments and group projects, so it has been put on hold indefinitely. Biri biri became my first published mixed cover! With one version being audio only, and the other featuring a timelapse of the art I made for it. We also received fanart of this version of us! Later on, I also created Acrylic standees (with character art by PencilKunSG) that are still for sale in limited quantites!
For most of the year of 2023, I embarked on an ambitious solo project to make merchandise every single month for the Carrot Club and to put up on my Online Stores. It was a year where I had a little more time drawing offline since I was staying with my parents and unable to stream most days. By the month of September, my hands were tired out and I found that I spent too much time cutting stickers on my own. But I saved some money from the previous month's support to have enough to offload it! Thus, I decided to leave the manufacturing process to the experts at VinylDecalStickers. A Singapore-based sticker printing company recommended to me by Min. I was pleasantly surprised by the many options available for finishing and how quickly they responded to my email queries. Since then, the company has expanded its reach and many others trust them with their products, so wait time has been increased and replies for quotations may take longer. But the quality of their work remains consistent and I still trust them to deliver fantastic quality products each time. You just have to order early! (My last order was in October 2024) The first sticker set I entrusted them with was my Pokemon Starter Stickers.(You can still get them on my Ko-fi!) I created an excel sheet with all the specifications and quantities before requesting for a quote (since there were so many designs). An organised request makes for an organised response, in my opinion, so that's how I go about it, even though some may say the manufacturing side should handle the specs too. How you approach it depends on you! I prefer to make my requests as foolproof as possible o avoid any miscommunication or errors. They arrived perfectly and throughout, the company communicated when the stickers were shipped, what was the tracking number and when to expect it's arrival. Overall, I was very satisfied with their service and quality. Thank you so much! The Pre-launch sticker sale stream went swimmingly too, and we broke even from it. Thank you Carrot Club for making this experience possible, and for believing in my work! *This post is not sponsored, just an honest review of my experience with VinylDecalStickers. Over time, I accumulated a lot of stock which did not move much, so I decided to make a Giveaway stream one of the goals for our 1st Anniversary Subathon. When we hit it, I held a cozy afternoon stream to look through some artbooks first before we went into the Giveaway stream planning! (We had to stock take after all)
The Giveaway stream was held close to the Mid Autumn Festival on 29th September 2023. The reception was great and Marbles on Stream was a fun way to determine the winners! Thank you for tuning in, I hope you all loved the prizes! In April of 2023, I moved home to my parents' place after about a year and a half living with my then-boyfriend, Chewy. This was to spend more time with my parents and so that they could give me a 'proper' sendoff to married life. (They are quite traditional people). For the months I was away from him, I felt incredibly homesick. I missed our everyday routines like hanging the laundry and getting to watch TV together.
To cope, I drew those things being done by a little white rabbit and little black cat who represented myself and him. Hence birthed the 'Chewy and Tokki' short series! It was discontinued when I moved back home with him after the wedding. Through it, I developed a new style and had fun representing our everyday lives with them while it lastest. Perhaps I'll pick it up again someday! When Laura Shigihara announced a competition to celebrate her new upcoming game, I made this because I couldn't decide on a single way to draw the llamaworms! It was my first time making a Picrew, and I discovered the many joys and pains of creating one through this XD
